It's a morning and the air's totally clear. some blowing wind bounces every trees i passed. While the time keep on winding, ignoring everything that we hate ore adore. those are refreshing, so i take a deep breath to let them dancing inside my soul. I'm here again wondering for something. This place it's the same as i woke yesterday. this place is called Solo, a quiet place where i live. Especially at morning when the population's sleeping like a laying leaf.

Solo in Different View: Comments About

Solo in My Opinion
by Adystya Imawahyu, student of Faculty of Letters and fine Arts Sebelas Maret University

Actually, this is my first time in Solo. I’m not Solonese. Before I live in Solo, I think Solo is a big city, the deep Javanese culture inside. I wanted to live here because I’m interested with this town. In my imagination, this town is very classic, artistic, and different with the other town I’ve ever been. In addition, this town is famous enough. But after I know how Solo exactly is, I changed my mind. Solo is not such a big city. I think, Solo is a small city, and it is not really crowded, if I compare it with another big city in East Java. But I love this city, and I like to live here. No traffic jam, no big buildings, and of course no pollution. Although this city is busy enough, there are no rubbishes everywhere.

I found some difficulties for my first time here. It wasn’t easy to adapt with Solonese. I’m an East Javanese girl.that’s why I have a different main character with the Solonese. The Solonese is so calm and they really keep their good attitude in their daily life. But East Javanese is so straight to the point so their attitude looks bad. I also found some difficulties with Solo language and dialogue.

Now, after I stay here for about six months, I’ve got different feeling. I prefer to live in Solo than East Java because Solo is quite different with East Java. Solo is a cultural city, and I love culture. Beside that, the differences between Solonese and East Javanese made me impressed. Solonese is so friendly, but in the other hand, East Javanese is so individualistic. I hope I can live here in a long time, not just for my studying time.
